Senior Research Associate, Automated Chemistry

Responsibilities

• Perform chemical synthesis of small molecules using automated platforms and high-throughput experimentation
• Conduct reactions under high temperature, high pressure, and inert environments
• Carry out design-build-test DOE protocols for automated chemical synthesis
• Develop and deploy integrated workflows and automation engineering solutions
• Handle chemicals, air-sensitive materials, and rapid liquid/solid dispensing
• Prepare reagents, solutions, electrolytes, and consumables
• Troubleshoot instrument and automation errors using engineering skills
• Record, organize, and maintain experimental data with high attention to detail
• Collaborate with scientists and engineers on life sciences and physical sciences projects

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or MS degree in Chemistry, Physics, Chemical/Materials Engineering, or a related field

• 1 year of experience in industrial bench top and wet lab environments

• Experience with pipetting, chemical handling, and sample preparation
• Hands-on experience synthesizing small molecules and automation familiarity
• Experience working with acids, bases, fume hoods, and glovebox conditions
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with nanoparticles
• Experience in high-throughput production or factory environments
• Basic engineering skills for troubleshooting tools like centrifuges, annealers, or robots
• Familiarity with automated workflows and custom scripting
