Senior Research Assistant

Responsibilities

• Execute experiments independently using established protocols, including immunoassay kit component testing and sample processing.
• Perform qualification testing of new immunoassays and optimize product performance using complex layouts.
• Conduct daily, weekly, monthly, and annual maintenance of laboratory equipment to ensure compliance and safety.
• Troubleshoot malfunctioning equipment, perform minor repairs, and schedule major repairs.
• Train new employees on assay procedures, analysis software, and equipment maintenance.
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace by restocking supplies and disposing of waste according to safety regulations.

Requirements

• Associate’s degree in a scientific field or equivalent relevant work experience.
• Two years of experience working in a laboratory setting.
• Proven experience working in a Biosafety level 2 (BSL-2) environment.
• Ability to work weekends (Saturday or Sunday).
• Physical ability to lift up to 25 pounds and work at heights above four feet.
• Strong attention to detail and proficiency with MS Office, particularly Excel.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience specifically with immunoassays.
• Strong oral and written communication skills for troubleshooting and reporting.
