About the role
Responsibilities
- Develop, steward, and govern site-wide reliability and availability strategies for the Scotford Refinery.
- Define decision criteria to prioritize reliability investments and present risk/value trade-offs to the Asset Leadership Team.
- Manage the site reliability improvement portfolio, ensuring resourcing alignment and execution against targets.
- Integrate engineering, operations, and maintenance to deliver reliability as a system outcome.
- Deploy High Reliability Organization (HRO) principles and coach leaders to embed a culture of continuous learning.
- Govern critical performance controls, including unplanned downtime and operational availability reporting.
- Diagnose and solve complex, non-routine technical problems to impact business performance.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related technical discipline from an accredited institution.
- 10+ years of industry experience in asset-intensive environments (operations, maintenance, engineering, or reliability).
- Legal authorization to work in Canada on a full-time basis.
- Proven ability to deliver long-term reliability improvements using risk-based asset care strategies.
- Demonstrated ability to lead through influence across multidisciplinary teams and organizational boundaries.
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation.
- Recognized Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Reliability.
- Knowledge of RCM, FMEA, Reliability Modelling, Lean Six Sigma, and structured problem-solving methodologies.
- Ability to hold or achieve MRTA Technical Authority Level 3 (TA3).
