About the role
Responsibilities
- Conduct in-depth failure analysis to identify root causes and contributing factors in surgical robotics systems
- Analyze trends in reported failures to identify areas for product improvement
- Categorize and prioritize customer complaints for detailed investigation
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, product owners, and design teams to integrate reliability enhancements
- Communicate investigation results and outcomes to stakeholders and affected customers
- Utilize investigative techniques such as "Cause Map" or Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA)
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline (e.g., Biomedical, Computer Science, Electrical, Software, or Mechanical Engineering) with 4+ years of experience
- OR Master’s degree in a technical discipline with 2+ years of experience
- OR PhD with relevant experience
- Proven expertise in conducting root cause investigations
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Medical Product verification and FDA guidance
- Background in robotics, mechatronics, or highly regulated industries (medical or military)
- Proficiency in Linux OS, Matlab, or Python
- Experience developing automation scripts to analyze test data
- Familiarity with statistical analysis, modeling techniques, and reliability engineering best practices
- Ability to manage and track multiple hardware and software configurations
