About the role
Responsibilities
- Lead reliability engineering efforts across hardware programs to ensure components meet performance and durability requirements
- Apply Design for Reliability (DfR) principles throughout the product lifecycle to proactively mitigate failure risks
- Develop and execute comprehensive test strategies to uncover failure modes and validate hardware
- Translate FMEA and reliability risk analyses into targeted test plans with defined acceleration factors and pass/fail criteria
- Plan and run Design of Experiments (DOE) to isolate root causes of reliability concerns
- Design and optimize test fixtures to evaluate hardware under electrical, thermal, mechanical, and environmental stresses
- Drive failure analysis investigations in collaboration with design, manufacturing, and component teams
- Leverage data analytics tools like Python, JMP, or MATLAB to automate workflows and perform reliability modeling
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field
- 5+ years of hands-on reliability engineering experience, specifically with electromechanical systems or sensors
- Strong understanding of physics of failure and reliability engineering principles
- Experience with environmental and mechanical stress testing, including test design and execution
- Familiarity with reliability analysis techniques such as FMEA, Weibull analysis, SPC, and HALT/HASS
- Proficiency in scripting or automation using Python, MATLAB, or LabVIEW
- Experience using reliability test equipment like environmental chambers, vibration tables, and data acquisition systems
