Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for external regulatory bodies (BaFin, Bundesbank, Einlagensicherung) and external audit firms
  • Draft, review, and finalize formal responses, regulatory filings, and statements
  • Establish and enforce a rigorous tracking system for regulatory and audit inquiries
  • Review outgoing regulatory communication to ensure alignment with strategic goals and risk policies
  • Collaborate with Risk Management, Compliance, Finance, Legal, and Operations to synthesize regulatory responses
  • Advise the Management Board on ongoing regulatory dialogues and communication strategies
  • Coordinate the end-to-end lifecycle of external audits and regulatory inspections
  • Oversee the internal tracking of audit findings and remediation plans

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Law, Economics, Business Administration, Finance, or a related discipline
  • 7+ years of professional experience in Regulatory Affairs, Compliance, Legal, or Audit within financial services or Big 4
  • In-depth knowledge of German and European banking regulatory frameworks (KWG, MaRisk, CRR/CRD, WpHG)
  • Proven experience managing complex, time-sensitive regulatory or audit projects
  • Fluent German and English with exceptional written business and legal terminology skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills for navigating sensitive dialogues with authoritative bodies
  • Ability to distill complex technical or legal issues into clear management summaries
