About the role
Responsibilities
- Design, conduct, and supervise bench and preclinical studies for product concept feasibility and formal regulatory submission
- Provide insight on clinical workflows and the clinical use of Electrophysiology (EP) products
- Support the development of risk management documentation and perform risk evaluations
- Plan, coordinate, and conduct empirical and experimental analysis, including data organization and report writing
- Participate in project design reviews and project planning while tracking performance against established plans
- Document technical work suitable for patents and technical papers
- Comply with FDA regulations, company policies, and operating procedures
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Biomedical Engineering, Biological Sciences, or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of R&D experience within the medical device industry
- Knowledge of or willingness to learn preclinical testing methods
- Strong technical leadership skills with the ability to coach and mentor less experienced employees
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interacting at multiple levels of the organization
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, highly matrixed, and geographically diverse environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Clinical EP experience in a patient-facing or clinical lab setting
- Experience with Design Validation and GLP studies in the medical device industry
- Experience with Abbott’s EnSite mapping system or competitor mapping systems
- Ability to plan, execute, and document individual scientific studies
