Senior Rail Bridge Engineer

Responsibilities

• Lead and perform engineering design tasks for standard bridges, walls, substructures, foundations, and other transportation structures.
• Coordinate with CADD teams to develop plans, specifications, and estimates for preliminary and final designs.
• Mentor and lead junior engineers, including reviewing and checking their design work.
• Identify technical requirements and implement engineering principles to develop innovative solutions.
• Apply appropriate design standards and codes to ensure compliance with contract documents.
• Participate in technical meetings and coordinate with clients, partners, and other disciplines.
• Develop technical differentiators and schemes for key project pursuits.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Structural or Civil Engineering (Master's degree preferred).
• Minimum 10 years of experience in structural or bridge engineering design.
• Professional Engineer (PE) registration.
• Experience working with Class I railroads, shortlines, industrial, or transit clients.
• Proficiency in bridge engineering calculations, structural detailing, and load rating.
• Strong knowledge of AASHTO LRFD, AISC, ACI, and other North American design codes.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to travel as required by the business.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Design-Build or other alternative project delivery methods.
• Experience with seismic design and analysis.
• Proficiency with engineering design software such as CSiBridge, MIDAS, or PGSuper.
