About the role
Responsibilities
- Design fault-tolerant electrical systems capable of operating in harsh radiation environments
- Simulate and model GTO and GEO radiation environments
- Coordinate and execute radiation testing campaigns to upscreen critical components
- Collaborate with the structures team to determine optimal spacecraft shielding levels
- Integrate radiation-hardened systems into the spacecraft through cross-functional teamwork
- Support electrical design, hardware bringup, and testing activities
- Assist in recruiting and interviewing new talent to grow the engineering team
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science degree in nuclear engineering, electrical engineering, physics, or a related technical field
- Experience with Geostationary radiation environments, including TID, SEE, and DDD
- Proven experience designing for and testing against radiation effects
- Experience testing both analog and digital circuits
- Experience working with high-reliability systems
- US Citizenship or Green Card (required for export control compliance)
- A passion for hands-on hardware development in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience running tests at professional radiation laboratories
- Electromechanical design experience
- Experience designing dosimeter circuits
- Proficiency with ECAD and MCAD tools (e.g., Altium, Solidworks)
