Senior Radiation Effects Engineer

Responsibilities

• Design fault-tolerant electrical systems capable of operating in harsh radiation environments
• Simulate and model GTO and GEO radiation environments
• Coordinate and execute radiation testing campaigns to upscreen critical components
• Collaborate with the structures team to determine optimal spacecraft shielding levels
• Integrate radiation-hardened systems into the spacecraft through cross-functional teamwork
• Support electrical design, hardware bringup, and testing activities
• Assist in recruiting and interviewing new talent to grow the engineering team

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in nuclear engineering, electrical engineering, physics, or a related technical field
• Experience with Geostationary radiation environments, including TID, SEE, and DDD
• Proven experience designing for and testing against radiation effects
• Experience testing both analog and digital circuits
• Experience working with high-reliability systems
• US Citizenship or Green Card (required for export control compliance)
• A passion for hands-on hardware development in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience running tests at professional radiation laboratories
• Electromechanical design experience
• Experience designing dosimeter circuits
• Proficiency with ECAD and MCAD tools (e.g., Altium, Solidworks)
