Senior R&D Scientist - Inhalation Development

Responsibilities

• Design and optimize DPI, MDI, and Nebulizer formulations for various platforms including capsule, blister, and reservoir-based inhalers
• Apply particle engineering techniques such as micronization, spray drying, and powder blending to achieve target aerodynamic profiles
• Perform aerodynamic characterization using NGI and DUSA for in-process and release testing
• Lead scale-up activities from lab to pilot and commercial manufacturing scales
• Define and optimize critical process parameters using QbD, DoE, and FMEA principles
• Prepare technology transfer packages and support on-site transfer activities at manufacturing scale
• Contribute to bioequivalence protocol design for generic DPI products
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior researchers

Requirements

• PhD or Master's degree in Pharmaceutics, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a related field
• 8–10 years of hands-on experience in DPI development within the pharmaceutical industry
• Proven expertise in formulation across multiple DPI formats (capsule, blister, reservoir)
• Hands-on experience with NGI, DUSA, and laser diffraction for aerodynamic characterization
• Proficiency in particle engineering: micronization, spray drying, and powder blending
• Strong experience in scale-up, process validation, and technology transfer documentation
• Familiarity with QbD, DoE, and FMEA-based risk management
