Senior Quantum Systems Validation Engineer

Responsibilities

• Design and execute tests to deliver engineering data and validate photonic quantum computer systems performance
• Work with design teams to develop, define, and document validation objectives
• Develop calibration, self-test, and control procedures for quantum photonic systems
• Analyze, reduce, and deliver experimental data to inform engineering models
• Debug software and hardware and conduct failure analysis to resolve design or manufacturing issues
• Communicate validation outcomes to internal stakeholders
• Provide technical direction to junior quantum validation engineers and lead complex validation activities

Requirements

• M.S. or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, experimental Physics, or a related field
• Experience designing and executing complex experiments in a cross-functional environment
• Technical leadership experience
• Proficiency in software development for instrumentation and controls, preferably Python
• Ability to work independently and own responsibility for validation objectives
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of quantum optics, single photon generation, and detection
• Experience with quantum characterization, verification, and validation
• Understanding of quantum information theory
• Experience with integrated silicon photonics
• Experience with mixed-signal, analog, or RF electronics design and test
• Experience with electro-optical device design and test
