About the role

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate state-of-the-art classical and quantum algorithms to develop solution concepts for industrial use cases.
  • Identify high-impact quantum use cases in collaboration with experts in laser technology, EUV, semiconductor manufacturing, and photonics.
  • Build powerful hybrid pipelines and demonstrators by combining quantum computing with high-performance computing (HPC) resources.
  • Benchmark implemented prototypes against classical methods and document performance and scalability.
  • Contribute to an agile team environment through backlog refinement, sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.
  • Present results to stakeholders and management to help shape technology roadmaps and strategic planning.
  • Cultivate relationships with technology partners, universities, and research institutes.

Requirements

  • Solid expertise in quantum computing, including hands-on experience with quantum algorithms and error correction techniques.
  • Practical programming experience with quantum SDKs such as Qiskit, Cirq, PennyLane, or Braket.
  • Proven experience in high-performance computing (HPC) using technologies like MPI, OpenMP, or CUDA.
  • Strong theoretical foundation in quantum mechanics and quantum information theory.
  • Degree or PhD in Physics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Excellent communication skills in English.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in AMO physics, solid-state physics, or laser physics.
  • Background in the semiconductor or photonics industries.
  • A record of scientific publications in the field of quantum computing.
  • Proficiency in German or a willingness to learn.
