Senior Quantity Surveyor

Responsibilities

• Manage procurement processes for subcontractors and prepare contract documents
• Support the preparation and regular maintenance of initial project budgets throughout the project lifecycle
• Oversee subcontractor payment processes, including valuation and certification, ensuring contractual compliance
• Lead the preparation and agreement of final accounts to ensure timely project close-out
• Maintain detailed measures of works completed and oversee cost/value reconciliations
• Maintain accurate cost reporting systems, projections, and internal monthly cost forecasting
• Maintain labour cost scheduling in conjunction with Project Managers
• Assist in the estimating process by providing cost build-ups and cash flow forecasts
• Review conditions of contract for tenders and advise on potential risks
• Provide guidance and support to other Quantity Surveyors within the Business Unit

Requirements

• Third-level qualification in Quantity Surveying
• Minimum of 5 years post-qualification experience, preferably in construction, civil engineering, or electrical infrastructure
• Demonstrable experience in negotiating and interpreting NEC or FIDIC contracts
• Highly IT literate with experience using specialist packages within a QS context
• Ability to travel throughout the UK as required
• Strong communication, negotiation, and analytical skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Chartered status with RICS or SCSI
• Understanding or awareness of the electrical contracting industry or broader utility environment
