Senior Quantity Surveyor

Responsibilities

• Manage commercial aspects of construction projects from pre-construction through to final account
• Provide strategic commercial leadership, managing risk, cost control, and cash flow
• Prepare internal commercial reporting, valuations, applications for payment, and cost reports
• Manage subcontract and material procurement schedules, including issuing appointments
• Administer subcontractor and supplier accounts from requisition to final account agreement
• Undertake contract administration, including change management and issuing contractual notices
• Identify commercial risks, opportunities, and value engineering potential
• Mentor and develop junior staff, managing their performance and training needs
• Liaise with Design and Project Managers regarding cost impacts and value engineering

Requirements

• RICS or ICES registered (working towards Chartership is a plus)
• Degree qualified or HNC equivalent
• Proven experience working with a Design and Build Building Contractor
• Strong knowledge of Standard Forms of Contract and Standard Methods of Measurement
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
• Expertise in project controls, risk analysis, procurement, and claims management
