About the role
Responsibilities
- Manage commercial aspects of large-scale, high-rise build projects from pre-construction through to final account
- Provide strategic commercial leadership, managing risk, cost control, and financial success
- Prepare internal commercial reporting, valuations, applications for payment, and cost reports to the client
- Manage subcontract and material procurement schedules, including the administration of subcontractor accounts
- Undertake contract administration, including change management, issuing contractual notices, and maintaining registers
- Identify commercial risks and opportunities, implementing value engineering and cost mitigation strategies
- Mentor and develop junior staff, managing their performance and professional development plans
- Liaise with Design and Project Managers regarding cost impacts and value engineering
Requirements
- Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, Construction Management, or a related discipline
- Registered with RICS or ICES (or actively working towards Chartership)
- Proven experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor or Quantity Surveyor within the UK construction industry
- Strong knowledge of JCT contracts and Standard Methods of Measurement
- Experience working with a Design and Build Building Contractor
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
