Senior Quantity Surveyor

Responsibilities

• Manage commercial aspects of large-scale, high-rise build projects from pre-construction through to final account
• Provide strategic commercial leadership, managing risk, cost control, and financial success
• Prepare internal commercial reporting, valuations, applications for payment, and cost reports to the client
• Manage subcontract and material procurement schedules, including the administration of subcontractor accounts
• Undertake contract administration, including change management, issuing contractual notices, and maintaining registers
• Identify commercial risks and opportunities, implementing value engineering and cost mitigation strategies
• Mentor and develop junior staff, managing their performance and professional development plans
• Liaise with Design and Project Managers regarding cost impacts and value engineering

Requirements

• Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, Construction Management, or a related discipline
• Registered with RICS or ICES (or actively working towards Chartership)
• Proven experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor or Quantity Surveyor within the UK construction industry
• Strong knowledge of JCT contracts and Standard Methods of Measurement
• Experience working with a Design and Build Building Contractor
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
