About the role

Responsibilities

  • Innovate process improvements to enable efficient delivery and maintenance of high-quality software.
  • Research and implement new tools to enhance testing capabilities and product quality.
  • Develop and execute automated and performance testing for large-scale data transformation and analytics workflows.
  • Collaborate with Product Management, Engineering, and Operations to ensure products meet all requirements.
  • Identify root causes of issues, report findings, and document results clearly.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives and implement best practices for quality control.

Requirements

  • Strong programming experience in Java with the ability to design and maintain automation solutions.
  • Proven experience testing microservices and distributed system architectures.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS services and cloud-based applications.
  • Experience testing event-driven systems using Kafka or similar messaging platforms.
  • Deep expertise in data engineering and data quality testing, including complex formats like Parquet, XML, and JSON.
  • Understanding of Spark jobs and distributed data processing environments such as EMR.
  • Proficiency with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub) and observability platforms like New Relic.
  • Strong understanding of QA methodologies and the software development lifecycle.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience using Databricks to analyze and validate data via queries.
  • Knowledge of schema validation approaches such as SHACL.
  • Experience with Docker or other containerization technologies.
