About the role
Responsibilities
- Develop, document, and maintain quality processes including calibration, nonconforming product programs, and configuration management.
- Partner with engineering teams to integrate quality requirements early in the product development lifecycle.
- Develop inspection plans and acceptance criteria for robotic components, parts, and assemblies.
- Lead supplier qualification activities, including documentation reviews and First Article Inspections (FAI).
- Manage supplier quality performance using scorecards, metrics, and structured feedback mechanisms.
- Lead structured failure analysis and root cause investigations to implement effective corrective actions.
- Own and administer the corrective action system, ensuring timely initiation, assignment, and closure.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of quality engineering experience in a hardware, manufacturing, or electromechanical environment.
- Proficiency in inspection planning, GD&T interpretation, and measurement system analysis.
- Experience managing supplier quality, including audits and corrective action processes.
- Knowledge of quality management systems such as ISO 9001 or AS9100.
- Strong root cause analysis skills using structured problem-solving frameworks.
- Eligibility to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance.
- Willingness to travel up to 25% to support field testing and supplier sites.
Preferred Qualifications
- CQE (Certified Quality Engineer) or CQA (Certified Quality Auditor) certification.
- Experience in a startup or high-growth environment building processes from the ground up.
- Exposure to robotics, automation, or advanced manufacturing technologies.
- Experience with DOD contractual requirements (FARs/DFARs) or Nondestructive Testing (NDT) standards.
