About the role
Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary quality interface with contract manufacturers to drive alignment on build quality, yield, and corrective actions.
- Lead day-to-day quality activities on the factory floor, including audits, line walks, quality gates, and outgoing quality checks.
- Monitor SPC charts, AOI/inspection data, and parametric performance to proactively identify and correct process drift.
- Lead NPI quality readiness by establishing control plans, process audits, and quality gates for new product builds.
- Proactively identify and de-risk potential failure modes using PFMEA and design reviews during the NPI phase.
- Drive disciplined problem-solving using 8D, 5 Whys, and PFMEA to ensure effective root cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Partner with Reliability Engineering to integrate manufacturing and field data to detect systemic issues.
- Collaborate with Supplier Quality to ensure incoming material stability and consistent factory performance.
Requirements
- 7–10 years of Manufacturing Quality Engineering experience with complex electro-mechanical products (semiconductors, consumer electronics, or datacenter hardware preferred).
- Proven track record managing contract manufacturer (CM) quality, including containment, corrective actions, and yield improvement.
- Strong technical knowledge of SPC, DOE, control plan strategy, AOI, and inspection systems.
- Hands-on expertise in structured problem-solving methodologies such as 8D, 5 Whys, and PFMEA/DFMEA.
- Data fluency with the ability to analyze yield and quality trends using Excel, Python, or SQL.
- B.S. in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering (or a related technical field).
