About the role
Responsibilities
- Own and continuously improve the quality assurance and quality control program across distributed energy projects
- Develop inspection standards, audit frameworks, quality metrics, and field quality processes
- Recruit, develop, and lead a team of QA/QC professionals responsible for field audits and inspections
- Oversee quality audits and inspections across active construction projects
- Validate substantial completion and commissioning readiness prior to project handoff
- Manage portfolio-wide defect management processes from identification through verified closure
- Partner with construction, engineering, and operations teams to align quality expectations
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience in QA/QC, field inspections, commissioning, or construction management
- Experience leading or managing QA/QC or field inspection teams
- Demonstrated experience developing quality standards or inspection frameworks
- Strong field observation, documentation, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to review work against drawings, specifications, and applicable codes
- Ability to travel to active construction sites
- Must reside within reasonable commuting distance of the Minneapolis/St. Paul area
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in distributed energy, battery storage, utility, or renewable energy projects
- Familiarity with commissioning workflows and project handoff processes
- CQM, CQI, or similar quality management certification
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field
