Senior QPU Software Engineer (FPGA)

Responsibilities

• Design and implement System Verilog modules for quantum control systems including RF/microwave generators and pulse sequencers
• Develop and maintain Ulti-board FPGA designs using Xilinx Zynq UltraScale+ RFSoC
• Implement high-speed serial interfaces such as CoaXPress, Aurora, and AXI4-Stream
• Create comprehensive testbenches using System Verilog and Python (cocotb)
• Optimize resource utilization, timing closure, and data throughput for high-bandwidth signals
• Design robust clocking architectures and error detection mechanisms

Requirements

• 5+ years of FPGA development experience with Xilinx UltraScale+ devices
• Expert-level System Verilog proficiency
• Experience with high-speed serial protocols (Aurora, AXI4, PCIe, Ethernet)
• Background in real-time systems design with microsecond timing requirements
• Proficiency in Digital Signal Processing (DSP) implementation in FPGAs
• Python programming skills for test automation and data analysis
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Physics

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with RF/microwave systems, frequency synthesis, or phase-locked loops
• Knowledge of high-speed ADC/DAC interfaces (JESD204B/C)
• Experience with image processing algorithms for atom detection
• Familiarity with High Level Synthesis (HLS) and Vivado block design
• Experience with formal verification using System Verilog assertions
