Senior Python Engineer

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of complex backend systems end-to-end from scoping to delivery
• Design and build robust, scalable APIs and distributed systems
• Collaborate with Product, Frontend, and Design teams to translate ideas into backend solutions
• Drive innovation in architecture and developer experience
• Contribute to evolving backend architecture, infrastructure, and developer tooling
• Identify and execute initiatives to improve system performance and reliability

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional backend engineering experience
• Deep expertise in Python and FastAPI
• Proven track record of building and scaling production systems
• Experience designing REST, GraphQL, or gRPC APIs
• Strong experience with SQL databases like PostgreSQL, including schema design and optimization
• Familiarity with cloud-native architectures, ideally GCP (Cloud Functions, Cloud Tasks, Firestore)
• Familiarity with DevOps practices, CI/CD, and infrastructure-as-code
• Familiarity with Vertex AI and ML specific infrastructure
• Strong communication skills and high sense of ownership

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience building and scaling high-traffic systems via side projects or startups
• Background working on AI products or data-heavy applications
• Academic background in Computer Science or a related technical field
• Experience in starting a company or working at a top-tier high-growth startup
