Senior Python Developer

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain Python applications for financial data processing, modeling, and reporting
• Design scalable microservices and APIs for integration with trading platforms and market data providers
• Collaborate with finance and risk teams to automate workflows and enhance data accuracy
• Optimize performance of real-time and batch data pipelines handling large datasets
• Ensure systems meet regulatory and compliance requirements such as MiFID II, Basel III, or SOX
• Lead code reviews, mentor junior developers, and promote best practices in secure coding
• Work with DevOps to deploy solutions in cloud or hybrid environments including AWS, Azure, or GCP

Requirements

• 5+ years of Python development experience in enterprise or financial environments
• Strong understanding of financial instruments such as equities, derivatives, and fixed income
• Experience with financial libraries including NumPy, Pydantic, PyTorch, Pandas, PySpark, or QuantLib
• Familiarity with trading systems, risk engines, or portfolio management platforms
• Proficiency in cloud technologies, containerization (Docker/Kubernetes), and CI/CD pipelines
• Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working within the UK financial sector
• Deep understanding of strict financial compliance, risk, and security regulations
