Senior Python Backend Developer/ML Engineer

Responsibilities

• Design and build scalable backend systems, APIs, and microservices using FastAPI
• Write high-quality backend code using Python, SQL, async/await, and SOLID design patterns
• Integrate Azure OpenAI (GPT-4, GPT-4 Vision) with robust retry and error handling
• Build LLM observability using tools like Langfuse to monitor prompts, tokens, and latency
• Develop prompt management strategies including versioning and cost optimization
• Orchestrate complex async workflows using Celery
• Design multi-tenant architectures with strict data isolation
• Document APIs and system changes using OpenAPI/Swagger

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field
• 7+ years of professional Python coding experience
• 2+ years of hands-on experience with machine learning and production LLM systems
• 3+ years of experience building backend APIs with FastAPI, async patterns, and SQLAlchemy
• Deep understanding of RAG architectures, including retrieval, reranking, and context assembly
• Hands-on experience with LangChain, LangGraph, and Hugging Face
• Experience with vector databases such as Pinecone, Weaviate, or Chroma
• Proficiency in advanced Python including Pydantic, type hints, and async/await

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with MLOps tools like MLflow or Langfuse
• Knowledge of LlamaIndex
• Experience with NLP and computer vision (OCR, document understanding)
• Understanding of DevOps practices including Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines
• Experience designing on cloud platforms, specifically Azure (Azure OpenAI, Blob Storage, Key Vault)
• Background in data engineering and large-scale ETL/ELT pipelines
