Responsibilities

• Own design and development of next‑generation pulsed power systems (Marx or related fast high‑voltage architectures)
• Architect modular, field‑deployable generator stacks for reliability and rugged field operation
• Run trade studies on switching topologies, insulation schemes, and energy delivery
• Integrate high‑speed diagnostics, sensing, and controls to monitor pulse shape and component health
• Collaborate with geoscience teammates to connect pulse parameters with permeability gains
• Draft technical reports, funding proposals, and safety documentation
• Establish and enforce rigorous HV/EHS protocols
• Support field mobilizations including configuration, commissioning, and troubleshooting

Requirements

• PhD or Master’s in Electrical, Pulsed Power, Power Electronics, or High‑Voltage Engineering
• 5+ years designing, building, and testing high‑voltage pulsed power systems
• Strong command of fast switching, capacitor energy storage, and insulation coordination
• Experience with pulse diagnostics and protection
• Ability to make technical decisions under time pressure
• Experience creating and enforcing safety practices for high-voltage environments

Preferred Qualifications

• Field deployment of ruggedized HV or pulsed power hardware
• Knowledge of plasma channel formation or rock fracture mechanics
• Modeling and simulation experience using SPICE, EMTP, or COMSOL
