Senior Propulsion Systems Engineer

Responsibilities

• Own development of new or existing products or systems as a technical lead
• Perform conceptual and detailed performance calculations, systems modelling, and analysis
• Manage requirements gathering, definition, and management
• Lead systems engineering activities and technical risk-based decision making
• Plan, set up, and execute tests including instrumentation and data analysis
• Manage projects including schedules, tasking, and stakeholder communication
• Mentor and coach team members on technical and professional development
• Contribute to engineering process development and documentation

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in aerospace, mechanical, mechatronics, or a related technical engineering discipline
• 5+ years of experience (Level I) or 8+ years of experience (Level II) in propulsion system development
• US citizenship required
• Expertise in propulsion system modelling, static/transient analysis, and model validation
• Proficiency with software such as Amesim, EcosimPro, Simulink, or Simscape
• Experience with the Systems Engineering V and risk-based decision making
• Experience with storable propellants (electrical and chemical)

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's or PhD in a relevant field
• Experience with Python for data manipulation and post-processing
• Detailed mechanical design experience using NX or equivalent CAD software
• Experience with GD&T and engineering drawings
• Proficiency with Product Lifecycle Management software like Teamcenter or Windchill
• Experience with Jama, National Instruments data acquisition, or flight hardware troubleshooting
