About the role
Responsibilities
- Manage the production of a propulsion subsystem, including advanced welded assemblies, for high-orbit satellite applications
- Design, build, or source all necessary tooling and equipment for propulsion component manufacturing and assembly
- Develop manufacturing processes that meet rigorous internal and external industry standards
- Build and maintain factory infrastructure to upgrade and scale satellite manufacturing capabilities
- Collaborate cross-functionally to deliver subsystems on time and within quality and cost requirements
- Assist in recruiting and hiring new members for the growing engineering team
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science degree in a technical discipline (e.g., engineering, physics)
- 5+ years of industry experience in propulsion, space vehicles, or high-precision welding
- High proficiency in Computer Aided Design (CAD) with experience delivering personally designed and built products
- Demonstrated ability to manage advanced manufacturing products in a fast-paced environment
- Must be able to work onsite at our San Francisco headquarters 5 days a week
- U.S. Citizenship, Lawful Permanent Residency, or Refugee/Asylee Status required
Preferred Qualifications
- Direct experience in Manufacturing, Weld, or Integration Engineering roles
- Experience with Robotic, Automated, or Orbital Tube Welding equipment
- Specific experience with electric propulsion, chemical space propulsion, or precision welded assemblies
- Deep knowledge of Machining, Welding, or Fixture/Tool & Die design
- Familiarity with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and industry standards (AWS D17.1, MIL-STDs)
- Experience with Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) or Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP)
- Familiarity with pressurized systems and Mission Assurance best practices
