Senior Propulsion Development Engineer

Responsibilities

• Create test plans, objectives, methodologies, and establish operational ranges
• Define instrumentation placement and analyze data for hardware behavior and performance
• Diagnose hardware/software problems and perform corrective actions
• Maintain data processing scripts and develop automation to increase test throughput
• Integrate test findings into system-level performance models and next-gen hardware design cycles
• Utilize propulsion cycle models to predict engine performance
• Continually improve facility capabilities

Requirements

• 5+ years hands-on experience with fluidic and propulsion systems, test operations, and data analysis
• Experience with hazardous environments including flammables, high voltage, and pressurized systems
• Knowledge of fluid systems and instrumentation hardware (pressure, temperature, load cells, etc.)
• Knowledge of rotating machinery operation and instrumentation
• Familiarity with data acquisition and control systems, PLC hardware, and communication protocols
• Proficiency in engine cycle modeling tools (GasTurb, NPSS) and scripting tools (Python, Matlab)
