About the role
Responsibilities
- Oversee large, high-profile commercial, retail, office, and industrial property portfolios
- Manage staff including hiring, training, coaching, and performance evaluations
- Maintain strong relationships with property owners and tenants through proactive communication
- Lead annual budget preparation, CAM reconciliations, and operating expense management
- Prepare monthly and quarterly ownership reports and review financial performance
- Ensure compliance with all tenant lease terms and manage rent collection
- Develop and maintain building procedures and long-range modernization plans
- Conduct regular property inspections and oversee construction management projects
Requirements
- 8-10 years of property management experience with commercial, retail, office, and industrial assets
- Proven expertise in CAM reconciliations and a strong financial/budgeting background
- Previous experience in team management and staff supervision
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to work independently in a high-paced environment and meet strict deadlines
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional designations such as CPM, RPA, or CSM
- Active involvement with professional organizations like BOMA, IREM, or ICSC
- Deep understanding of the local Toronto market and competitive landscape
