About the role
Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate strategic research initiatives and institutional responses, including responsible research and open scholarship projects
- Provide high-quality analysis, reports, briefings, and presentations for the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research) and senior leadership
- Manage complex projects and programs across multiple portfolios, ensuring effective governance, timelines, and stakeholder engagement
- Draft policies, consultation responses, and strategic submissions to government and sector bodies
- Synthesize diverse input and recommendations to shape University-wide research policy and governance
Requirements
- Tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline and substantial related professional experience
- Proven experience in research administration, government, or higher education within a large, complex organization
- Advanced project management capability, including the ability to monitor and evaluate multiple concurrent initiatives
- Exceptional written communication skills with the ability to produce persuasive materials for senior stakeholders
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to navigate ambiguous issues and negotiate creative solutions
- Ability to maintain detailed records and manage competing priorities independently
- Current valid Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain one)
