About the role
Responsibilities
- Manage individual development projects including review and approval of plans, site investigation reports, and remedial action work plans
- Implement applicable laws, regulations, and policy to meet strategic environmental and engineering goals
- Lead communications with development teams, the general public, elected officials, and other city agencies
- Oversee and review work products produced by Project Managers and provide training opportunities
- Inspect and participate in field sampling, remediation, and engineering activities
- Review and oversee Site Management Plans and recommend changes based on inspection findings
- Prepare original proposals and complex reports regarding environmental engineering and remediation matters
- Maintain databases and archives for program oversight
Requirements
- Valid New York State Professional Engineer License
- Four years of full-time experience in environmental engineering (a Master's degree in environmental engineering can substitute for one year of experience)
- For Assignment Level II or III: at least one year of experience as a major contributor or project leader on a complex project within the last three years
