Senior Project Manager and Business Development Specialist

Responsibilities

• Lead business development activities including opportunity identification, client engagement, and pursuit strategy development.
• Contribute to go/no-go decisions, proposal development, and interview preparation.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, approval agencies, Indigenous communities, and industry partners.
• Serve as a senior project manager providing technical leadership and oversight on complex environmental projects.
• Support project teams through planning, permitting, regulatory approvals, and stakeholder engagement.
• Mentor and provide coaching to intermediate and junior staff to support professional development.
• Perform billable project work with an expected utilization target of 50%.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, environmental sciences, planning, geography, or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 15 years of relevant experience in environmental planning, consulting, or a related field.
• Demonstrated expertise in environmental planning, including regulatory and permitting processes across multiple jurisdictions.
• Proven track record in business development, including proposal development and client engagement.
• Strong organizational and communication skills with the ability to influence and build consensus.
• Willingness to travel as required to support projects and business development activities.

Preferred Qualifications

• Professional designation such as P.Eng., RPP, RPBio, PAg, or PMP.
• Familiarity with Stantec’s Environmental Services offerings and client base.
