About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and technical direction for moderate to highly complex design projects.
- Manage the completion of assigned engineering projects within established budgetary and scheduling guidelines.
- Communicate technical details, ideas, and concepts to both engineering and non-engineering stakeholders across multiple locations.
- Lead tradeoff discussions and risk management conversations with cross-functional teams.
- Drive project design to meet market-driven guides, fulfilling cost, timing, reliability, and manufacturing requirements.
- Account for technical execution elements, including component integration, material selection, packaging, and regulatory compliance.
- Conduct design and safety reviews to secure necessary approvals for product development phases.
- Track project schedules, facilitate meetings, and present regular status updates to leadership.
- Interact with global manufacturing plants and outside suppliers to support DFMA initiatives and achieve project goals.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering.
- Minimum 10 years of engineering experience in a related field.
- Proven experience managing multiple moderate-to-high complexity engineering projects or subsystems.
- High level of Mechanical and Electrical engineering aptitude.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office software, specifically Microsoft Project.
Preferred Qualifications
- Graduate studies in Project Management, Finance, Marketing, or Organizational studies.
- Formal project management training.
- Working design knowledge of technologies associated with professional power tools.
