About the role

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and technical direction for moderate to highly complex design projects.
  • Manage the completion of assigned engineering projects within established budgetary and scheduling guidelines.
  • Communicate technical details, ideas, and concepts to both engineering and non-engineering stakeholders across multiple locations.
  • Lead tradeoff discussions and risk management conversations with cross-functional teams.
  • Drive project design to meet market-driven guides, fulfilling cost, timing, reliability, and manufacturing requirements.
  • Account for technical execution elements, including component integration, material selection, packaging, and regulatory compliance.
  • Conduct design and safety reviews to secure necessary approvals for product development phases.
  • Track project schedules, facilitate meetings, and present regular status updates to leadership.
  • Interact with global manufacturing plants and outside suppliers to support DFMA initiatives and achieve project goals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering.
  • Minimum 10 years of engineering experience in a related field.
  • Proven experience managing multiple moderate-to-high complexity engineering projects or subsystems.
  • High level of Mechanical and Electrical engineering aptitude.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software, specifically Microsoft Project.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Graduate studies in Project Management, Finance, Marketing, or Organizational studies.
  • Formal project management training.
  • Working design knowledge of technologies associated with professional power tools.
