Senior Project Engineer

Responsibilities

• Work hands-on to develop quotes and interface with external customers to define project scope and requirements.
• Lead cross-functional teams through New Product Launch (NPL) and manage high-level CapEx installations.
• Specify, purchase, and track new equipment including tools, machines, and automation.
• Propose and lead continuous improvement projects on the production floor to improve safety, quality, and productivity.
• Manage facility infrastructure, maintenance, and environmental compliance.
• Assist the production floor with daily operations, including mold troubleshooting, repairs, and preventative maintenance.
• Implement visual controls and standard work within the department.

Requirements

• 8 years of hands-on plastic project engineering experience.
• Mechanical knowledge and aptitude for plastic processing equipment, specifically injection molding machines.
• Proficiency in analysis tools such as Six Sigma, Root Cause Analysis, Fishbone Analysis, and SPC.
• Ability to read and understand 2D and 3D technical drawings.
• Strong analytical problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a 24-hour manufacturing environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interacting with internal and external stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

• 4-year Engineering Degree.
• 10+ years of hands-on process and project engineering experience in a plastics plant.
