Senior Project Engineer

Responsibilities

• Support end-to-end engineering execution of BESS projects for data centers
• Manage technical scope and serve as technical point of contact to project managers
• Coordinate with internal engineering, procurement, and construction teams
• Collaborate with customers, EPC contractors, OEMs, and design consultants
• Review and validate system designs including electrical, civil, and mechanical
• Design single line diagrams, schematics, and wiring diagrams for battery storage
• Prepare electrical equipment specifications, data sheets, and purchase requisitions
• Develop short circuit, load flow, and arc flash studies using ETAP
• Conduct site walks and support field activities during installation and commissioning
• Participate in Factory and Site Acceptance Testing (FAT/SAT)
• Identify technical risks and propose mitigation strategies

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline
• 5+ years of experience in project engineering within BESS, electrical infrastructure, or data centers
• Familiarity with energy storage systems (CATL, Sungrow, Tesla, etc.) and high-voltage infrastructure
• Strong understanding of electrical schematics, single-line diagrams, and equipment layouts
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and power system study programs like ETAP or SKM
• Ability to travel to project sites across the U.S. up to 50%

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with EPC or design-build projects in North America
• Familiarity with commissioning protocols and QA/QC procedures
• PE or EIT certification
