Senior Project Engineer - Control Systems

Responsibilities

• Lead and support control systems projects through all phases, including feasibility, design, implementation, and commissioning
• Design and develop modern control systems hardware and software tailored to client needs
• Develop process control narratives to integrate automation solutions with new and existing equipment
• Build and implement control algorithms and logic based on industry standards and best practices
• Test, simulate, and troubleshoot systems to ensure performance, reliability, and compliance
• Drive checkout and commissioning activities, including providing training to operations and maintenance teams
• Mentor and coach junior engineers and technologists to expand their technical skills
• Support business growth through estimates, proposals, project planning, and risk mitigation

Requirements

• Degree or diploma in Engineering (automation, electrical, or a related field)
• Registration as EIT, P.Eng., or AScT in British Columbia
• 10+ years of industrial experience (Pulp & Paper and consulting experience is a strong asset)
• Hands-on design and configuration experience with DCS platforms (e.g., ABB, Emerson, Foxboro, Honeywell)
• Strong knowledge of industrial networking and cybersecurity practices
• Proven problem-solving ability across control systems hardware, software, and communications
• Willingness and ability to travel to domestic and international project sites
• Legally entitled to work in Canada

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with PLC/HMI systems
• Experience in project management
