About the role
Responsibilities
- Lead technical coordination between Alva, EPC, and site owner to define scopes and deliverables
- Oversee technical performance of the EPC and review key engineering deliverables
- Work with supply chain to plan procurement of major equipment and ensure vendor compliance
- Translate engineering into construction-ready work packages and provide support during commissioning
- Manage technical and regulatory risks and ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards
- Plan and manage engineering maturity from FEL-1 through FEL-3
- Coordinate multi-discipline design including mechanical, piping, electrical, and civil/structural
- Support early-stage development, technology configuration, and techno-economic cases
- Lead preparation of RFPs and technical bid evaluations for EPC and key vendors
Requirements
- 6–10+ years leading engineering or construction on large power or process-industry projects
- Experience with steam turbine or combined-cycle plants and EPC interaction
- Strong technical understanding of steam turbine power plants and balance-of-plant systems
- Hands-on experience with stage-gated engineering (FEL-1/2/3 or 30-60-90%)
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, Civil, or related engineering discipline
- Willingness to travel up to ~25% to project sites and suppliers
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with ASME, IEEE, or ACI codes and standards
- Experience with nuclear or decarbonization technologies
