Senior Project Controls Specialist - Quantity Surveyor/Schedule Analysis

Responsibilities

• Perform quantity surveying for power plant construction projects, including field work to verify quantities installed.
• Support schedule validation through field observations, tracking project progress, and interacting with vendor staff.
• Develop and maintain site-integrated schedules and incorporate implementation details into project baselines.
• Lead change control processes by identifying, assessing, and managing impacts to project scope and schedule.
• Generate periodic project controls communications, including routine analytics, data verification, and presentation-quality reports.
• Implement systems for Work Breakdown Structures (WBS), cost estimates, and cash flow projection tracking.
• Mentor junior Project Controls Specialists and establish effective relationships with project management and sponsor organizations.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Project Management, Finance, or Business Administration.
• Minimum 5 years of related work experience.
• Valid driver's license.
• Proficiency in project controls software and methodologies.
• Ability to perform on-site field work and mobilize to project sites as required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with MS Project, MS Office Suite, or schedule analysis software such as Deltek Acumen.
• Subject Matter Expertise in quantity surveying for large, complex construction power projects.
• Experience evaluating vendor change orders and time impacts.
• Knowledge of risk management tools and Monte Carlo analysis.
• Previous experience in on-site field observations and performance tracking via field walkdowns.
