Senior Project Controls Engineer

Responsibilities

• Provide performance reporting and analysis support for high-profile infrastructure projects
• Develop work breakdown structures and robust performance baselines in collaboration with cost and planning engineers
• Establish progress and cost monitoring methods and produce project control reports
• Perform schedule construction including task creation, duration estimation, and critical path networks
• Conduct assurance reviews to ensure high-quality schedules using tools like Primavera Schedlog or Acumen Fuse
• Manage baseline management, planning workshops, and variance reporting
• Evaluate project status through progress reporting, schedule narratives, and risk reviews
• Drive a positive culture for schedule management and hold work package owners to account

Requirements

• Previous experience in a project controls environment within the infrastructure sector (e.g., Defence, Rail, Aviation, Highways, Water, Marine/Ports, or Utilities)
• Experience in at least one of: Programme Controls Management, Earned Value (EVM), Change & Risk Management, Planning, Project Controls, or PMO
• Demonstrable knowledge of best practice planning principles and project life cycles
• Technical competence in schedule construction and resource/cost allocation
• Proficiency in planning systems such as Primavera, Project Online, Microsoft Project, or Asta Powerproject
• Ability to perform schedule monitoring, baseline management, and performance measurement
