Senior Project Accountant

Responsibilities

• Oversee transaction workflow, General Ledger accuracy, and Job Cost budget vs. actuals
• Coordinate requisitions, subtrade/vendor invoicing, and management of the construction lender draw process
• Prepare monthly journal entries, including accruals, amortizations, and cost re-allocations
• Perform intercompany and General Ledger to Sub-ledgers reconciliations
• Assist with year-end audits and prepare working paper files
• File monthly HST and annual T5018 returns
• Support new project financial modeling and underwriting
• Work with the CFO on construction financing applications and lender reporting

Requirements

• Post-Secondary education in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• CPA designation completed or near completion
• Working knowledge of ASPE financial reporting
• Understanding of construction holdbacks, Ontario Lien Act, and T5018 reporting
• Hands-on month-end close experience and strong balance sheet ownership
• Experience in multi-entity environments with intercompany transactions
• Proficiency with Excel (pivot tables, lookups)
• Experience with Yardi or similar ERP/accounting systems is an asset
• Ability to analyze budget-to-actual variances and provide actionable insights
