About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide national-level technical leadership for disease surveillance and diagnostic workflows to ensure alignment with IDSP/IHIP frameworks.
- Serve as the primary technical liaison with the NCDC and other national-level stakeholders.
- Develop and oversee surveillance strengthening strategies, roadmaps, and workplans for intervention cities.
- Support diagnostic workflow strengthening, including specimen referral pathways and laboratory networking.
- Lead GIS mapping initiatives to analyze disease burden and identify high-risk zones.
- Design and deploy standardized surveillance tools, data collection instruments, and reporting templates.
- Strengthen laboratory-based surveillance and improve specimen referral networks.
- Support outbreak preparedness through the development of SOPs, rapid response protocols, and simulation drills.
- Facilitate technical upskilling and handholding initiatives for national and state-level functionaries.
- Develop technical documents, including policy briefs, operational guidelines, and One Health integration reports.
- Coordinate with Health Systems Strengthening teams to ensure coherence across urban health programs.
Requirements
- MBBS, BDS, BAMS, BHMS, or BVSc degree.
- Master's in Public Health (MPH), Epidemiology, or a Postgraduate Diploma in Public Health/Health Management.
- 7-10 years of progressive experience in disease surveillance, epidemiology, or public health programming.
- 4-5 years of experience in a supervisory or technical leadership role.
- Demonstrated experience working with government systems, specifically IDSP, IHIP, or NCDC.
- Proficiency in data analysis, data visualization, and epidemiological tools.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in both English and Hindi.
- Ability to travel up to 30-40% of the time.
