About the role
Responsibilities
- Serve as the senior owner-side program management lead for a portfolio of transmission and substation projects delivered under an EPC model
- Act as an extension of the client’s office to coordinate with internal stakeholders, EPC contractors, and consultants
- Provide owner-side technical oversight of multidiscipline teams and independent oversight of EPC contractor engineering, procurement, and construction
- Oversee EPC contractor performance regarding scope, cost, schedule, quality, safety, and contract compliance
- Lead project readiness, stage-gate coordination, and decision-support activities to ensure timely project advancement
- Support review of cost, schedule, risk, change, and open-book pricing information to inform client decisions
- Lead communication and issue resolution across engineering, project controls, procurement, and construction teams
- Support construction readiness, commissioning, turnover, and closeout activities, including documentation and handover coordination
Requirements
- Demonstrated experience in Owner’s Engineer, owner advisor, utility owner-side, or EPC oversight roles
- Proven experience supporting large, complex transmission and substation projects
- Experience managing mega projects or major capital programs with multiple stakeholders
- Ability to lead multidiscipline technical teams and provide effective oversight of EPC contractor deliverables
- Strong expertise in project scope, cost/schedule performance, risk management, and change management
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or a related field
Preferred Qualifications
- 15+ years of relevant experience in utility infrastructure or major capital project delivery
- PMP certification and/or Professional Engineer (PE) license
- Experience with transmission and substation EPC delivery models
- Familiarity with Primavera P6, cost systems, and project reporting dashboards
- Experience with extra-high-voltage transmission and substation projects
