Senior Program Manager – Linux & Industrial Solutions

Responsibilities

• Drive end-to-end execution of Qualcomm’s Linux platform initiatives, focusing on upstream alignment and open-source excellence.
• Define and lead mainline alignment, upstreaming strategies, and branch lifecycle management across mainline, LTS, and stable trees.
• Oversee open-source compliance, release coordination, and adherence to Linux-first execution strategies.
• Drive enablement across Yocto, Debian, and Ubuntu distributions, including graphics, multimedia, AI/ML, and industrial frameworks.
• Convert platform capabilities and prototypes into stable, repeatable, production-grade industrial IoT solutions.
• Integrate key industrial protocols (OPC UA, Modbus, EtherCAT, MQTT, etc.) into platform roadmaps.
• Manage large cross-functional execution spanning kernel, multimedia, connectivity, and hardware platform teams.
• Own schedules, milestone alignment, dependency mapping, risk management, and executive communications.
• Drive CI/CD health and continuous testing coverage across mainline and LTS branches.

Requirements

• 10–15+ years of leadership experience within embedded Linux, Kernel, Yocto, or Open-Source ecosystems.
• Deep understanding of upstream Linux development workflows (maintainers, linux-next, LTS/stable branches).
• Expertise in Kernel branching models, mainline alignment, and Yocto/OE pipelines.
• Proficiency with Debian/Ubuntu packaging and workflows.
• Experience with open-source contribution processes (patch submission, review cycles, Gerrit/Git).
• Demonstrated success managing complex, multi-disciplinary engineering programs.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 5+ years of Program Management or related work experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with industrial IoT systems, industrial protocols, or Linux-based industrial platforms.
• Background in prototyping, customer-facing engineering, or productizing industrial IoT software stacks.
• Strong documentation skills and a developer ecosystem orientation.
