About the role

Responsibilities

  • Lead a complex, multi-year application modernisation program to remediate and de-risk critical IT systems
  • Drive high-velocity parallel delivery with strong program-level governance and financial discipline
  • Maintain overall accountability for scope, schedule, budget, benefits, risks, and dependencies
  • Define and maintain a coherent annual roadmap of initiatives, including prioritisation and sequencing
  • Establish program governance, controls, and reporting aligned to IT delivery frameworks
  • Manage financial forecasting, accruals, cost controls, and budget change management
  • Partner with Technical System Owners to ensure priorities are scoped, planned, and transitioned to operations

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in a relevant discipline such as STEM, Business, or equivalent professional experience
  • Formal program or project management certification (e.g., MSP, PRINCE2, PMP)
  • 5–10 years of experience delivering large, complex digital or application-focused IT programs
  • Proven experience managing multi-stream delivery portfolios with shared specialist resources
  • Strong financial management capability, including forecasting and executive reporting
  • Demonstrated stakeholder engagement skills within technical environments

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in higher education or large, complex public-sector environments
  • Experience delivering application modernisation, remediation, or legacy risk-reduction programs
  • Familiarity with portfolio management frameworks and PPM tools
