About the role
Responsibilities
- Lead a complex, multi-year application modernisation program to remediate and de-risk critical IT systems
- Drive high-velocity parallel delivery with strong program-level governance and financial discipline
- Maintain overall accountability for scope, schedule, budget, benefits, risks, and dependencies
- Define and maintain a coherent annual roadmap of initiatives, including prioritisation and sequencing
- Establish program governance, controls, and reporting aligned to IT delivery frameworks
- Manage financial forecasting, accruals, cost controls, and budget change management
- Partner with Technical System Owners to ensure priorities are scoped, planned, and transitioned to operations
Requirements
- Bachelors degree in a relevant discipline such as STEM, Business, or equivalent professional experience
- Formal program or project management certification (e.g., MSP, PRINCE2, PMP)
- 5–10 years of experience delivering large, complex digital or application-focused IT programs
- Proven experience managing multi-stream delivery portfolios with shared specialist resources
- Strong financial management capability, including forecasting and executive reporting
- Demonstrated stakeholder engagement skills within technical environments
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in higher education or large, complex public-sector environments
- Experience delivering application modernisation, remediation, or legacy risk-reduction programs
- Familiarity with portfolio management frameworks and PPM tools
