Senior Professional Indemnity Underwriter

Responsibilities

• Underwrite profitable Professional Indemnity business across middle market and SME segments
• Drive new business growth through strong broker engagement and market presence
• Manage and retain a portfolio of larger renewals where appropriate
• Build and maintain a strong external network to support growth plans in PI
• Work closely with brokers to identify opportunities and deliver tailored solutions
• Coach and support colleagues within the team to develop capability
• Contribute to underwriting strategy, appetite, and trading approach
• Ensure underwriting decisions align with risk appetite, profitability targets, and service standards

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of Professional Indemnity underwriting experience
• Ideally 10 years of experience within the insurance industry
• Proven track record in new business development
• Experience handling renewals, including larger or more complex accounts
• Excellent broker relationship management and networking skills
• Strong commercial judgement and technical underwriting capability
• Clear communication, negotiation, and influencing skills

Preferred Qualifications

• CII qualifications
• Knowledge and experience of Acturis or E-trade platforms
