About the role
Responsibilities
- Support and maintain highly available, scalable IT systems and infrastructure hosting critical index platforms and applications
- Act as a technical lead, providing leadership while remaining hands-on with incident response and project requirements
- Lead incident response efforts, conducting root cause analysis and implementing preventive measures to minimize downtime
- Develop and maintain automation frameworks for deployment, monitoring, and infrastructure management
- Collaborate with development teams to implement SRE best practices, including SLOs and error budgets
- Monitor system performance, capacity planning, and resource optimization to ensure optimal production environments
- Drive continuous improvement by analyzing system metrics and identifying bottlenecks
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or Engineering (or equivalent work experience)
- 6+ years of experience in technical operations or application/data support roles focusing on high availability systems
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS (ECS, S3, CloudFront)
- Proficiency with monitoring and observability platforms like Datadog, Dynatrace, or similar tools
- Advanced PostgreSQL skills, including performance tuning, optimization, and PL/SQL
- Strong scripting skills in Python or Shell for automation
- Knowledge of networking protocols including TCP/IP, Unicast, Multicast, and Sockets
Preferred Qualifications
- Datadog (APM, Logs, or Fundamentals) or equivalent SRE certifications
- Understanding of observability best practices, log correlation, and distributed tracing
- Knowledge of Financial Services, specifically in Index/Benchmarks, Asset Management, or Portfolio Investment domains
- Experience mentoring junior team members or L1/L2 support staff
