Senior Product Systems Engineer

Responsibilities

• Own the architecture of Loft's space infrastructure, defining how ground, space, software, and hardware segments interact
• Define how the platform is structured and allocate capabilities across hardware, software, and ground segments
• Shape ground software tools and interfaces to serve as the primary entry point for customers
• Clarify interaction models between onboard software, ground software, and third-party stacks
• Define, organize, and maintain requirements, interfaces, and architectural boundaries
• Coordinate architecture discussions to align product intent with implementation realities across teams
• Contribute to CONOPS, ICDs, architecture notes, and technical trade studies
• Ensure solutions are designed to be reusable and scalable rather than tailored to single missions

Requirements

• Strong systems engineering background in complex technical products spanning software and hardware
• Experience working at the boundary of architecture definition and engineering implementation
• Ability to structure complex systems into clear capabilities, interfaces, and requirements
• Strong understanding of software-heavy systems, including distributed components, APIs, and integration patterns
• Proven ability to coordinate cross-functional technical work across multiple teams
• Excellent communication and documentation skills to turn technical ambiguity into clear frameworks
• Sound engineering judgment regarding rigor and abstraction for a growing organization

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with space systems, including ground segment tooling or onboard software
• Experience defining integration models for customer-owned or third-party software
• Familiarity with architecture trade studies and system-level interface management
• Experience with onboard data processing and cloud-based ground software
• Experience in international and cross-site engineering collaboration
