Senior Product Security Engineer

Responsibilities

• Serve as the product security subject-matter expert collaborating with development teams to identify, assess, and prevent security issues
• Champion secure and defensive programming techniques and automation to eliminate security problems
• Elevate secure software development practices at NETGEAR
• Use bug hunting technologies to find vulnerabilities at scale
• Monitor security trends, vulnerabilities, and threat intelligence to assess relevance to products

Requirements

• 4 to 9 years of experience in application security, hardware, IoT security, pen-testing, or secure software development
• Expertise in product security combined with automation skills
• Proven track record implementing security tooling like SAST and SCA (OSS/SCA)
• Experience with fuzzing, reverse engineering, writing SAST rules, Semgrep, or CodeQL
• Excellent knowledge of common security weaknesses such as OWASP Top 10
• Understanding of network security technologies and vulnerabilities in the networking device space
• BE or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Security, or Networking
• Excellent English communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Participation in CTF competitions or OWASP chapters
• Experience with software and firmware development
• Documented CVE discoveries, bug bounty awards, patents, or open-source security contributions
