Senior Product Manager, Autonomous Vehicle Safety

Responsibilities

• Develop comprehensive safety requirements for autonomous delivery vehicles across all operational scenarios, including navigation, obstacle detection, and emergency response.
• Define and own the autonomous vehicle safety requirements roadmap and strategy, establishing testing protocols and validation mechanisms.
• Partner with Tech, Robotics, Engineering, Operations, and Legal teams to embed safety into product design from concept through deployment.
• Monitor and report on safety metrics and KPIs to senior leadership, tracking incidents and system performance.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements from agencies such as DOT, NHTSA, and FMCSA.
• Establish safety testing frameworks including simulation, closed-course, and real-world pilot testing protocols.

Requirements

• 7+ years of product management experience, including close partnership with engineering or robotics teams.
• Experience building and launching complex products involving diverse stakeholders across multiple organizations.
• Proven track record working on safety-critical, regulated, or compliance-driven products.
• Strong analytical skills and data-driven decision-making capabilities.
• Understanding of machine learning safety validation and testing methodologies.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Robotics, or a related technical field.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for presenting technical information to executives.

Preferred Qualifications

• Advanced technical degree.
• Experience with autonomous vehicle technology, robotics systems, or ADAS.
• Background in functional safety standards such as ISO, UL, or SOTIF.
• Experience with IoT devices, sensor systems, or perception systems.
• Knowledge of ROS, robotics frameworks, or autonomous system architectures.
• Proficiency in data analysis tools including SQL and Python.
