Senior Product Legal Counsel

Responsibilities

• Advise on the application of laws, compliance issues, and industry standards, focusing on safety, moderation, and advertising.
• Review products, features, and initiatives to ensure alignment with global legal obligations.
• Support product and advertising growth while balancing user safety and policy considerations.
• Draft consumer disclosures, FAQs, and terms and conditions.
• Assist in developing strategies for potential disputes, litigation, enforcement, and regulatory matters.
• Partner with cross-functional stakeholders including Product, Engineering, Privacy, Public Policy, and Marketing.
• Keep current on relevant industry standards, laws, and regulations.

Requirements

• J.D. Degree.
• California Bar admission in good standing (or California Registered In-House Counsel).
• 5+ years of relevant legal experience working on technology or internet-related issues.
• Substantial experience with US and international laws regarding online safety, youth safety, content policies, content moderation, and advertising.
• Experience advising clients in sectors such as video, mobile, gaming, e-commerce, or user-generated content (UGC).

Preferred Qualifications

• 1+ year of in-house legal experience.
• Experience as product counsel at a technology company.
• Experience with social media, services hosting user-generated content, or video games.
