Senior Product Engineer

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and deploy backend microservices for partner-facing features including fraud reporting, case management, and audit logging
• Develop and maintain the permissions and role-based access control (RBAC) systems for the Partner Portal
• Implement SSO (SAML 2.0) integrations and solve identity mapping challenges between partner systems and Wise
• Design consistent, well-documented, and usable RESTful APIs for partner-facing endpoints
• Conduct technical discovery to map complex systems, evaluate dependencies, and produce design documentation
• Collaborate with FinCrime, Compliance, and KYC teams to integrate critical workflows into the portal
• Provide production support and debugging for live partner issues

Requirements

• Proven experience designing and deploying backend microservices using Java and Spring Boot
• Strong understanding of domain-driven design (DDD) and event-driven architecture
• Experience designing and maintaining commercial RESTful APIs using OpenAPI/Swagger and OAuth2
• Proficiency in designing relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL), including data modeling and query optimization
• Ability to manage complex technical landscapes and document findings clearly
• Experience working with large-scale enterprise requirements such as reliability, auditability, and security

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience building enterprise portals, partner platforms, or B2B SaaS products
• Understanding of cross-border payment systems and international money movement
• Experience with identity and access management (SAML, SSO, SPIFFE)
• Familiarity with Kafka or other event streaming platforms
• Ability to communicate technical decisions effectively to non-technical stakeholders
